For over a decade now, the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya has sought to gauge the scope of the professional practice of Catalan architects abroad, and the results obtained with each year of search have amply surpassed the previous. In 1993, with the collaboration of the Generalitat de Catalunya Catalan Government, ‘Catalan Architecture in the World’, a stand and catalogue listing some one hundred works, was presented at the Chicago Congress of the International Union of Architects. In 2002, once again on the occasion of a UIA Congress, this time in Berlin, the COAC presented the work ‘Projections >> Catalan Architecture in the World’, more than duplicating the list of projects. Just three years later, ArqCatMón 2005 has once again doubled the figures, offering an overview of more than 500 works produced abroad by a total of 242 Catalan architects.
