Redevelopment of Ghent’s central square, the product of the progressive addition of open spaces around the cathedral, city hall and opera house.
This involved creating an underground space to be used in the short term as a car park and later as a centre for city activities.
Two weeks before work was due to start, the Council suspended the commission, deciding not to go ahead with the underground building.
