Remodelling of the avenues that have since the early 19th century occupied the area around the old town walls that used to encircle the medieval town.
Due to the pressure of traffic (these avenues are one of the city’s most important thoroughfares), much of the original value of these avenues has been lost.
The main aims of the project are to recover their spatial quality and respond to the contemporary needs of traffic and organisation of the medieval fabric and the 19th-century city.
