MECHANISM CHECKING LICENSE TO PRACTISE
Description The Professional Council issues a licence that is required by different authorities for every kind of work where architect's intervention is needed. Furthermore, by obtaining a building permit, the local authorities' inspection bodies (Curadurías Urbanas) check whether the architect is licensed or legally authorised to practise.

Colombia has bilateral agreements with the following countries: Netherlands Antilles, Argentina, Aruba, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Mexico, Nicaragua, The Netherlands, Panama, Peru, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Dominican Republic, Russia, Holy See, Uruguay and Venezuela. This does not meen, however, that the recognition is automatic, the academic record has to be submitted for recognition.
