Additional notes The Architects who want to work together as a team, may form societies of architecture. These societies can be either civil professional societies (SCP), commercial societies (EURL, SARL, SA) or societies of free practice (SELARL, SELAFA).
 
ARCHITECT'S COMPETENCES
Description The design and carrying out of an architectural project, organisation of the territory and urban development, plus other tasks such as dividing land into parcels, works direction, and advisory and expert services. The intervention of an architect is not necessary in buildings of "low-level importance" - for a use other than agricultural of less than 170m2 or for an agricultural use of less than 800m2.
 
MECHANISM CHECKING LICENSE TO PRACTISE
Description When processing the construction permit, the local authorities check out whether the architect is licensed.
 
ARCHITECT'S LIABILITY
Description 10 years as from the hand-over. Minimum 2 years for installations. The Spinetta Act fixes a good achievement guarantee which has a minimum of 2 years of duration and is relative to dissociable elements (elevators, boilers, different mechanisms...). During the first year from the hand-over there is also the "perfect achievement guarantee", which obliges the architect to correct all the imperfections observed in this period.

Additional notes In a private procurement, negotiated freely by the parties signing the contract. Since the Decree of 1 December 1986 on freedom of prices and competition, the publication of fee scales has been prohibited. As for the public procurement though, having in consideration the particularity of the profession and after a long negotiation between representatives of the State and the profession, a remuneration calculation guide has been published.

Origin 1 (EU citizens) Identity document, diploma, proof of address in France, certificate stating that you have not been subject to disciplinary action, 3 passport-size photographs. In the case of providing services, you will have to present furthermore a certificate of lawful practice and registration in the country of origin, project description including the name and personal data of the owner, the total cost of the work and planned duration.
