MECHANISM CHECKING LICENSE TO PRACTISE
Description Stamping the projects with the architect's registration number and proving to have all the professional obligations settled (payment of fees such as membership in CTG, pensions, retirement). Besides, when an architect firstly addresses to the authority that issues the building permit, he/she has to submit a certificate of the Technical Chamber of Greece proving that he/she is a registered architect.

LAW/S REGULATING PRACTICE
Presidential Decree 107/93, Presidential Decree 512/91, Decision of the Body of the Representatives of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
 
REQUIREMENTS
Origin 1 (EU citizens) They can be registered in Greece after recognition of their studies by the special organisation (DICATSA) and after passing an examination in order to be registered, as the local architects. The examination is in Greek language.
Origin 2 (Citizens of any country that have Greek nationality) Have the right to be registered in Greece after recognition of their studies by the special organisation (DICATSA) and after passing an examination in order to be registered, as the local architects. The examination is in Greek language.
Origin 3 (Foreign architects that live and work in Greece for at least 10 years and are closely related to a Greek citizen) Have the right to be registered in Greece after recognition of their studies by the special organisation (DICATSA) and after passing an examination in order to be registered, as the local architects. The examination is in Greek language.
 
PROCEDURE
Proof that the title is contemplated in the Directive, Examination at the Technical Chamber of Greece
 
EXPENSES
Sworn translation of the documents, diploma recognition expenses, payment of membership fees at the TCG, payment of fees at the TSMEDE
 
DOCUMENTATION
Origin 1 (EU citizens) Arquitectural qualification, proof that the diploma is official, citizenship certificate, clean disciplinary and criminal record, proof of legal practice in the country of origin.
Origin 2 (Foreign citizens with Greek nationality) Architectural qualification, proof of equivalent.
Origin 3 (Foreign architects that live and work in Greece for at least 10 years and are closely related to a Greek citizen) Architectural qualification, proof of equivalent.

If foreign architects are authorised to work independently, what type of collaboration with national architects is recommended?  
In the event that foreign architects are not authorised to work independently, what is the stipulated formula of collaboration with national architects? Only the registered architects have the right to stamp the projects. Foreign architects that are not registered have to establish a joint venture with a local practice.
