ARCHITECT'S COMPETENCES
Description Both architects and engineers are competent to design and realise buildings of civil edification. Nevertheless, those buildings that present a relevant artistic caracter, as well as the restoration of the buildings contemplated in the Acts 1089/1939 and 1492/1939 for the antiquities and fine arts, are exclusive competence of an architect. Design of buildings, structures and installations, feasibility studies, drafting of technical documentation related to the design, supervision and co-ordination of the construction. Design of urban structure, urban planning & development, territorial planning, landscape design, supervision and co-ordination of the realistion of the latter projects. Design of interiors, furnishings, fittings and objects, appraisal services, consulting and technical expertise.
 
MECHANISM CHECKING LICENSE TO PRACTISE
Description Anybody can check in any moemnt whether an architect is registered at the Ordine or not. Local authorities do so when issuing the building permit.
 
ARCHITECT'S LIABILITY
Description 10 years in the case of severe damages; 5 years in the case of damages of lesser importance (as of the hand-over). None, if the intervention is limited to the design.
