Description Design of buildings and structures, feasibility studies, drafting of technical documentation related to the designs, control of construction costs, supervision and coordination of the construction; urban planning and development, regional and national planning, landscape design, interior design, appraisal services, consulting and technical expertise, restauration and rehabilitation of buildings.
 
MECHANISM CHECKING LICENSE TO PRACTISE
Description The project documents delivered to the local authority for the building permit have to be sealed by the Colegio de Arquitectos. By issuing the building permit, the public bodies or municipal authorities check if the architect is licensed to practice and complies with the regular payment of his professional fees.

If foreign architects are authorised to work independently, what type of collaboration with national architects is recommended? They have to employ ecuatorian architects in at least 80% of the staff.
In the event that foreign architects are not authorised to work independently, what is the stipulated formula of collaboration with national architects? Joint venture de facto o de iure with a local architect or firm, according to the type of work and its special conditions.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
The exercise of foreign architects is conditionned by the reciprocity between the country of origin and Ecuador.
